PROJECT = Baby Strazz's Dresser

This post marks the first of what I hope to be many DIY and home projects to share.  This dresser belonged to Christopher and his brothers - his Mom used it when they were growing up.  It was sitting in the basement of the Cape house and was perfect for "Bob's" nursery, with a little TLC.

Here is the dresser BEFORE...

...and AFTER...

(I still have to touch up where the screws for the legs show.)

*Drawers lined thanks to Mum!*

I would like to point out the legs, as it didn't have any to start.  I found these unique legs at Lowe's, but they were only 2" high and I wanted the dresser a bit more raised.

My "handyman" attached two legs together for me to make them 4" total height, then I primed them and made my first attempt at silver-leafing.  With the shape and texture, there was no way to make the silver-leafing perfect, but I love how they came out - some of the white primer shows through and they have a nice 'crackled' effect.

I'm very happy with the end result, and I love that it's an heirloom piece.  What do you think?!

Full nursery reveal coming soon!

I would also like wish a very Happy Birthday to Nicole today!
