NEW ANNOUNCEMENT...

Since Rita Hurley ~ Renewed Home originally started based on the idea of painting and refinishing furniture, I started collecting pieces awhile back. I was originally going to open an Etsy shop to sell furniture but then decided I did not want to deal with the shipping/freight on such large pieces. So some pieces have been finished and others await my attention in the basement/Santa's Workshop...

DUH ~ WHY DON'T I LIST THEM ON MY RITA HURLEY ~ RENEWED HOME Facebook page for sale via local pick-up only. I was debating Craigslist and/or local craft fairs but to start I just posted a few items to the shop's Facebook page. For those that don't have Facebook...1) Get with the times! and 2) Here you go...

BERMUDA BLUE ANTIQUE CHAIR ($85) This is an antique chair from a local barn sale. It is painted a Bermuda Blue, distressed, and finished with a clear wax. It has an interesting wire detail on the back. Chair measures about 35 inches tall and 16 and 1/2 inches across the seat.

MINT GREEN SIDE TABLE ($65) This is a vintage table painted in layers of color and distressed ~ it was first painted white, then light aqua, then the mint green color. When distressed, all layers show. It is finished with a clear wax. Table measures 25 inches in length by 14 and 1/4 inches deep by 20 inches tall.

BERMUDA BLUE SMALL DRESSER/SIDE TABLE ($125) This is a two drawer side table/dresser ~ the top drawer is shallower and the bottom appears to be two drawers from the outside but is actually one large, deep drawer. It is painted a Bermuda Blue, distressed, and finished with a clear wax. I repainted the original hardware a bright green and slightly distressed so the gold shows through. Table measures 24 inches long/wide by 25 and 1/2 inches tall by 16 and 1/4 inches deep.

VINTAGE PINK MIRROR ($75) This is a vintage/thrift mirror. It is painted a medium pink with a somewhat glossy finish. It is a heavy piece with wire for hanging across the back. Since it is an older piece there are character markings in the mirror to show its age. Mirror measures 26 and 1/2 inches across (including frame) by 24 inches tall (to the tip of the middle detail at the top of the frame).

RED SMALL BENCH/TABLE ($20) This is a small antique bench with several coats of paint previously. It is chippy & distressed. It is finished with a clear wax. This is not a sturdy piece so it is recommended for aesthetic purposes only. Table measures about 25 inches long by 8 and 1/2 inches deep by 14 inches tall.

I have more pieces to work on so after I get the shop up on Etsy I will work on items when I have time and continue to post them for sale.

Cereal Time!

Gracie started cereal this week! She was all ready to go in her chair...

It was a mixed reaction...

Bentley wanted to jump in and help with her bottle after...

Other than being a big girl and eating her cereal, Grace has been enjoying snuggling up in the comforter...

And she's just being WICKED cute...

The Little Nudist...

As I first mentioned in "Four Month & Other Updates" Bentley has a new habit of taking off his pants and diaper in the morning. It happened once or twice a couple of weeks ago and now it is a regular occurance. It now happens MOST TIMES between mornings and after naps when I go in to get him...

He woke up from his nap over the weekend and Sammy was there to greet him - and AGAIN, he was pantles/diaperless. Sam didn't mind though.

A couple of times he has even peed through the crib rails onto the rug. EXCELLENT ~ Let the good times roll! I was even on the phone with my friend and he heard me telling her and then immediately started taking his pants off! Let's hope it doesn't start in public, LOL!
