I just mentioned the "Alternative ABC's" book from Ammo Books and when I checked out their website, they have some real goodies in terms of kids books...
I will surely be picking up "Kid Made Modern" by Todd Oldam. Oldham uses mid-century design to inspire playful, creative craft projects for kids. The best part is that in addition to some fun projects for Baby B and I to do together, the book features design icons Charles & Ray Eames, Verner Panton, and many more. OK so maybe this one will be a little more fun for me for the time being!
This website features several Charley Harper books as well. Charley Harper is a popular artist rediscovered by Todd Oldam in 2001, and the two collaborated on the book "An Illustrated Life." Harper is known for his delightful, graphic and often humorous illustrations of nature, animals, insects. There are several other Charley Harper books featured at this site (and also at Anthropologie Kids!), including an array of ABC & 123 books (even stacking/nesting blocks featuring ABC's & 123's), as well as flash cards, a memory game, and a classic wooden peg puzzle.
I encourage you to check out the Ammo Books website not only for the kids selection, but also for the design (Kelly Wearstler's HUE!!!), photography, and pop culture selections.
Happy reading!
