30TH Party with Boston Bruins & Stanley Cup!!!

And the story goes...

The hubby's 30th is June 24th but he has a big golf tourney that weekend, so I planned a surprise trip to Foxwoods the weekend before, on June 18th.  The place was picked and date set back in March, and we decided to go to this bar in the casino called High Rollers for a bowling/drinks/dinner extravaganza before more drinking and a night of gambling.  So to reiterate ~ BACK IN MARCH this was booked.  When I get to Foxwoods/MGM and I'm checking in there are rumors circling that the Bruins are supposed to head down after the big parade...then we hear they're staying on the 4th floor...then we hear they're going to HIGH ROLLERS (where we had reservations!)...then we hear they're going to this club called Shrine later on that night (which I tried but every single VIP and/or private table was sold out).  RUMORS RUMORS are no fun...UNLESS THEY AREN'T RUMORS!

So, we get to High Rollers around 4PM for our reservation at 5PM, some of the boys are running late and we're just hanging out so I move the res to 5:30...as we start hearing that security is being really strict letting people in...and they are setting up for a private party of 40 people in the center of the bar area...and security inside the place starts getting even tigher.  We head to our lane in a semi-private area as we hear CONFIRMATION THAT THE BRUINS ARE COMING AT 6:30!!  After about 8 frames of bowling we hear cheers and sure enough the Bruins parade themselves into the bar...

But we didn't see the cup.  And then this happened...HELLOOOOOOOOOOO, STANLEY CUP!  Some of these pics are blurry b/c they were on phone...but I assure you they were all taken first hand!!

We had a nice view...Thornton, Chara, Tuukka, Recchi, Seidenberg...

Then something even more glorious happened...there is no private bathroom in High Rollers so all of the players had to take the long public walk through the bar every time they had to pee.  They drank A LOT and peed A LOT.  They had security with them on each walk to the men's room  (even though the players were bigger than all of the guards) but were still approachable.  We realized there was a shuffle board table directly across from the bathroom entrance that no one was using so we parked ourselves there for HOURS.  I had my camera and with a few drinks in me (or even dead sober) I had NO SHAME upon asking these big burly hockey dudes for pictures for my husband's 30th birthday.  So we got some OUTSTANDING pictures...McQuaid (who nicely requested to use the "washroom" before taking a picture so he really must have had to go), Marchand & Krejci, Kelly, Tuukka, Seguin & Peverley (with a random old man), Ryder & Savard, & Chara...

And then as if things could get any freakin' more amazing than being at the same bar at the same time as the Stanley Cup-winning Boston Bruins and being able to stalk them for pictures outside of the bathrooms, the amazing Peter starts asking the guys to take a "celebrity shot" on the shuffle board table as they exit the bathroom...Krejci, Tuukka, Bergeron, Lucic (with a bad flash), McQuaid, Ference...

Click here to see a video of Ference taking his celebrity shot!

I just hope they washed their hands!  And then Tyler Seguin was on the phone with the soon-to-be Mrs. Pete Edwards..."Hey Christine!!!"

And although this next pic isn't great, I saw guys in a 'secret' room packing up the cup in its case to bring it over to the next bar, Shrine...

It was pretty incredible that after 1.5 million people went to the Bruins parade in Boston, we just happened to end up being a select few that were in the same bar at the same time as these guys with the Stanley Cup.  But it was even better to see how much fun my hubby and his besties had, and watch them smile like little kids at seeing these guys!!!  After they left High Rollers we knew they were going to Shrine but all of the tables had been booked so unless we wanted to wait in a huge line we weren't going to see them later on (but I mean REALLY...WHO CARES AFTER THE GUYS GOT TO PLAY SHUFFLE BOARD WITH THEM!!!).  Some pictures have surfaced that this is what we missed...including a $100,000 bottle of champagne...

Over the course of building up that $150,000+ bill, they did this!!!

WHAT AN INSANE NIGHT!!!  Hanging out with the Boston Bruins & the Stanley Cup, playing shuffle board with them and getting some great pics!  Kev called Tyler Seguin "Beiber" because of his hair, so he quickly left our table saying "Really, bro, BEIBER?!"  I thought Pete was going to cry...but then he talked to Christine on the cell so all was good.  Thornton was the only guy that wouldn't stop for a pic or handshake because he wanted to relax, so after a few times of denying us Kev asked him if he "had the bladder of a 6-year-old" because he was hitting the bathroom so much!  HAHAHAHA.  And finally when we went into this delicious buffet breakfast/lunch (brunch, if you will...) restaurant Chara was sitting alone at the bar, enjoying his breakfast quietly.

Do I win wife of the year for having the Boston Bruins & the Stanley Cup at my hubby's 30th birthday?!!  This will be one for the memory book!  EPIC!!!!
