Meet Clarence...

This year I have introduced Bentley to the Elf on the Shelf, which DeDe and Duppy actually bought for him last year.  We named him Clarence after the angel in It's a Wonderful Life.  Bentley's still a little young to fully understand, but we say hi to Clarence on his shelf every day, we watch the Elf on the Shelf movie OVER AND OVER, and we read the book.  I explain to him that Santa has sent Clarence to watch over him; he reports back to Santa if Bentley is behaving well; and he will tell Santa what Bentley wants for Christmas.  We cannot touch Clarence or he will lose his Christmas magic.

I know he it too little still to fully understand, but its fun explaining it to him.  I decided for the week before Christmas (most people do all 25 days leading up to the big day but he's too little still...) Clarence would get into some trouble.

Since Bentley is SO into art & coloring right now, Clarence colored him a picture with a little note that said "Santa is watching!"
